New Years Eve!!!! {This is my last blog for 2011}

It's almost a new year!! I thank God for blessing me to have a great year in 2011. I'm not where I want to be, but thank God, I'm not where I used to be. I am looking forward to things in the new year, especially my wedding. Some people say the world is going to end, but no one can really predict that. I'm going to bring in the new year with a positive attitude with the people I love.  This is officially my last blog for the year 2011. See you next year lol.

Wedding/Reception Venues

Shout out to all the newly engaged ladies out there! This blog is to share a list of wedding venues that I come across so far (in the Conway, AR area). If you're like me, a bride on a budget, then I'm sure you're looking for a venue that has reasonable prices. There are quite a few that ranges from $150 up to $5000.  Here is a list of a few places located in Conway & Little Rock:

Agora Conference Center: Located in Conway. Rental price starts at $2500 with a $1000 deposit. No outside catering. Can hold plenty of guests. Rental space is very roomy.

Knights of Columbus: Located in Conway. Rental price starts at $500. Can have outside catering. Can hold up to 300 guests.

Howard Johnson: Located in Conway. Rental price starts at $500. Must hire a cop if there is alcohol present. Outside catering is allowed. Can hold up to a 150 guests.

Hilton Garden Inn: Located in Conway. Rental price starts at $400. No outside catering is allowed. Meeting room can hold up to 150 guests.

Country Inn & Suites: Located in Conway. Rental price starts at $325. Can hold up to 100 guests. Outside catering is allowed.

Fairfield Marriot & Suites: Located in Conway. Rental starts at $150. Can hold up to 80 guests. Outside catering is allowed.

Centennial Valley Golf & Athletic Club: Located in Conway. Look up for more info.

University of Central Arkansas Ballroom : Located in Conway. Rental starts at $300. Can hold up to 150 guests. No alcohol is permitted. No outside catering unless approved.

Hendrix College Green Chapel: Located in Conway. Rental starts at $400 for students and $600 for non-students.

Holiday Inn Express: Located in Conway. Can hold up to 50 guests. Rental price starts at $200. Outside catering is allowed.

Peabody Hotel: Located in Little Rock. Can hold plenty of guests. There are a lot of meeting space options. Price starts at $2400. No outside catering is allowed.

Conway Expo Center: Located in Conway. Can hold over 500 guests (it's huge). Rental price starts at $1000. Outside catering is allowed. This place is big enough for ceremony & reception.

Pleasent Valley Country Club: Located in Little Rock. Rental price starts at $5000.

Alda Ellis Magnolia Hill: Located in Little Rock. Outdoor weddings. Look up for more info.

Christmas

This Christmas was one of the best by far. Everything went as planned, unlike, a couple previous years. It was like a scene from a movie. Everyone is getting along and having a good time. We had gift wrapping paper everywhere. I felt like a kid again. I got quit a few gifts. If I hadn't received a gift, I still would have been happy. I'm in good health, I'm surrounded by the ones I love, so that's all that counts. Hope you all out there had a very Merry Christmas :)

Wedding Planning

Well, the wedding planning is one step ahead than what it was yesterday. It's crazy when you're a budget bride. I don't have the luxury of sitting around while everyone else does my planning and arranging -- my maid of honor does help me as much as she can.  Even though it's tough, having to stress over everything, it's worth it. It makes everything more personal and sentimental. One day, I will look back on my big day and say, "I decrorated that beautiful wedding myself." I started in advance, so I think I'm making pretty good progress.

I'm doing a lot of DIY projects to save money. They are inexpensive and if you love arts and crafts than why not? So far, I've done my own party favors, ring bearer pillow, unity candle decorations, door wreaths and much more. Here are a few pics of some of the things that I've done below. I got a most of my materials from Walmart and Hobby Lobby. It's good to research things to get an idea of how you can go about making them if you've never done so. Youtube.com is a great tutor if you need to know something.

DIY Pomanders

Okay...So I'm the type of person who doesn't really like to sleep. I just feel like there's not enough time in a day for me. I feel that I get the best ideas late at night. I research a lot of things. Political stuff, DIY tricks, hair care, film stuff, etc. Don't get me wrong...I'm not super sleep deprived like Christian Bale in the movie "The Machinist," but I do tend to stay up too late. So far I've found a great idea on DIY bridesmaid bouquets. I decided that I was going to try to make a purple hydrangea pomander, with a silk white ribbon.

And this is how it turned out.

I am super proud on how it turned out. It's really time consuming though. If one wants to complete one of these, they really need to be patient. Tools needed: Bead wire, ribbon, flowers of choice, 4" styrofoam ball (white or green, but white tends to be cheaper), a wire cutter, scissors, needle/thread.  Anyway, that concludes this blog for now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!! :)

Well, God has blessed me to see another year. This birthday is more relaxed than some of the past ones. I'm kind of in a laid back mode. Plus my significant other recently had surgery, so that ruled out going to a club with him. Anyway, I'm off to start my dinner celebration.

By the way, while in the middle of logging in to my blog spot, some idiot keeps trying to send me viruses and hack into my computer. GET A LIFE!

SCRIPTS!!

So I've been working on a few scripts. I've come to a point where i'm experiencing writers block. I just don't won't to add anything and it becomes stupid. I haven't had writers block in a while. I'm am anxious to finish it though. I just want the script to be the best it can be before I put it out there. Hopefully, I will get through my block soon....

Interracial relationships

I'm currently engaged to a caucasian man. I'm the type who doesn't care about a person's skin color. I feel that a man should be judged on his character and the way that he treats a woman. We've been together a total of 32 months. Within that time span I have experienced much stupidity from individuals who so called "don't approve." I feel that it's retarded and people should love who they choose. I wonder will racism ever DIE. I'm so frustrated with the looks that some people give when they see us together.  Our neighbor is the perfect example...she's never taken the time to get to know us. She just frowns and illustrates what she thinks of us being together. I just laugh at how closed minded people are.


I don't feel like I've "sold out." Why should I have to be labeled because I've chosen to love someone who's different from me? Aren't we all different? Even if we're the same race, we still aren't the same. I feel that people should get over it all ready. We aren't the first couple to mix. Hell, it dates back since the beginning of time. People should just get a life and not worry about situations that they aren't in themselves.

Besides...love has no color.

HOLLYWOOD WEDDINGS

I'm so sick of celebrities getting married for 5 minutes and then divorcing. All of Hollywood has been with each other. I know that I'm not the only one out there who knows who the Kardashians are. They are everywhere, whether people like them or not. Anyway, I think this Kim and Kris ordeal was really stupid. They spent $10 million on a wedding just to stay married for a little over 2 months. It's like they didn't realize that they were'nt compatible before wasting that much money. On the other hand, the profits from the wedding publicity made up for what was spent. I think the Kardashian women (especially Kim) are irrelevent. Kris Humphries seemed like he was inmature. I think Kim's backside blinded him from the truth. No one even knew who they were before Kim's sex tape. Whether the Kardashian's admit it or not, they are only famous because of Kim.

I'm Engaged!

I became engaged on August 30, 2011. I kind of saw it coming. My hubby-to-be is bad at hiding what he's feeling. I remember feeling so anxious and a number of other things. I could barely sleep. I kept anticipating when/how would he ask. Of course, I was going to say YES! It's just the feeling of knowing how life is changing and how I've grown up so fast. It seems like yesterday, I was trying to figure out what I was going to wear to prom...now a WEDDING. I never thought, I'd be engaged this year. The wedding will be purple and white...but all the other details are still kind of fuzzy right now lol.

I've been considering creating a blog for a while now. I guess I finally got motivated enough to do so. I think this is a good way to vent. I can complain and rant about whatever I want. Some things may not be grammatically correct or people may not necessarily agree with me but, the purpose of this blog is to express myself.
